Asean- Power.com, JAKARTA-Cirebon Power continues to boost the development of the Cirebon unit II Steam Power Plant (PLTU). Until the beginning of March 2019, the progress of the construction of a 1,000 Megawatt (MW) power plant has reached 42%.
At present the construction of the Cirebon unit II PLTU is focusing on civil engineering processes. Throughout this year, the progress of the construction of the plant is planned to reach 53% in terms of construction, while the overall project can reach 71%.
The Commercial on Date / CoD target is still February 2022. This year the construction work will focus on steel structure and boiler installation.
Cirebon Electric Power is a consortium consisting of five majority-owned companies PT Marubeni with 35% share ownership, 25% PT Indika Energy. Then, Samtan Ltd 20%, Korea Midland Power Co., Ltd for 10%, and Jera Power 10%.
Meanwhile, with Ultra Super Critical technology, the Cirebon Unit II PLTU can increase efficiency by up to 40% to burn calorie coal from 4,000 to 4,600 kcal / kg. Within a year the power plant will consume around 3.5 million tons of coal.
Coal for the power plant needs will be supplied from three large companies, namely PT Kideco Jaya Agung, PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC) and Bayan Resources. Meanwhile, the tender for the coal supply has been completed before Financial Closing (FC) in November 2017
