Jakarta, PT PLN (Persero) said a number of areas in Jabodetabek and several areas in West Java will still experience rotating power outages on Monday (5/8). The possibility was conveyed by Acting Managing Director of PT PLN (Persero) Sripeni Intan.
“We apologize, until afternoon into the afternoon there are still rolling blackouts,” he said at the PLN Central Office, Monday (5/8).
But unfortunately, he did not explain in detail which areas will experience the blackout. He only added that the blackouts still occur because PLN to this day is still normalizing the flow of electricity.
PLN explained that the electricity went out because there was a disturbance on the transmission side of Ungaran and Pemalang 500 kV. This resulted in a failure of energy transfer from east to west.
As a result, all power plants on the central and western sides of Java experienced interruption (trip). The flow of electricity then went out in the Greater Jakarta area, parts of West Java and Central Java. Power outages in the Greater Jakarta area itself began at 11:48 WIB.
In addition, power outages in other regions including West Java were caused due to interruptions in the 500 kV Sutet transmission. Areas affected by power outages include Bandung, Bekasi, Cianjur, Cimahi, Cirebon, Garut, Karawang, Purwakarta, Majalaya, Sumedang, Tasikmalaya, Depok, Gunung Putri, Sukabumi, and Bogor.
For this incident, President Jokowi this morning visited the PLN Central Office. He asked the country’s stun company to immediately resolve the issue.
Power outages in a number of areas of Jakarta and parts of Banten, West Java and Central Java, on Sunday (4/8). Even some areas are still extinguished until Monday (5/8) morning.
