Asean- Power.com, Jakarta – PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) and PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM) will form a joint venture with an investment of US $ 350 million
The joint venture was formed to build a steam power plant (PLTU) with a capacity of 3×60 megawatts (MW) and a diesel power plant (PLTD) with a capacity of 3×17 MW in East Halmahera Regency, North Maluku.
It is currently in the feasibility study phase, but the construction will be carried out as soon as possible because it adapts to the construction of the smelter and is targeted to operate in mid 2023.
He said, in this joint venture subsidiary Bukit Asam would own 75% of the shares, while the rest would belong to Antam.
The plant is intended to provide energy supply for Antam’s ferronickel plant in East Halmahera. The PLTU is estimated to consume 650,000 tons of Bukit Asam’s coal per year.
