Editor: Ferry Muharram, JAKARTA – PT Badak NGL and PT Pertamina Power Indonesia (PPI), have completed the construction of a Solar Power Plant (PLTS) with a total installed capacity of 4 MWp, at PT Badak NGL, Bontang, East Kalimantan.

With the above milestones, PT Badak NGL as one of the providers of clean energy in the form of Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) has the opportunity to become the first LNG plant in the world to diversify the use of energy sources by utilizing renewable energy, especially PLTS to support the operational needs of refineries .

This confirms Pertamina’s commitment through two subsidiaries in supporting the government’s program for the development of New and Renewable Energy in the country, as well as the realization of the synergy of the Pertamina Group.

“With the operation of PLTS in Bontang LNG Badak, it also formally proves the ability of PT Pertamina Power Indonesia as one of the new clean energy providers and Renewable Energy, in addition to gas and LNG-based,” said Managing Director of PPI Ginanjar.

In addition to the New and Renewable Energy sourced from the sun (solar), PPI also developed a biogas-based power plant project with PTPN II and PTPN III, as well as wind power-based power plants.
