JAKARTA – The government is committed to continuing to pursue the construction of 35,000 megawatts (MW) of plant projects. Secretary of the Directorate General of Electricity Munir Ahmad said that until the end of this year there were seven 35,000 MW program generators that would be operational.
The seven plants include the South Kalimantan power plant with a capacity of 100 MW, White Water PLTA with a capacity of 21 MW, PLTSa Sukawinatan with a capacity of 0.5 MW, Maumere PLTMG with a capacity of 40 MW, Java 7 PLTU with a capacity of 1000 MW and PLTU Java 8 with a capacity of 1000 MW.
“We also hope this year will be included in the Lumut Balai 55 MW PLTP. It is expected to be able to COD in August 2019, “he said in the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources’s Directorate General of Electricity, Jakarta, Tuesday (07/02/2019).
He admitted if the 35,000 MW program was built with a combination of a power plant. He reasoned that the construction of the PLTU is expected to be able to provide affordable electricity prices to the public. “The 35,000 MW power plant program is indeed a combination of PLTU. “We want electricity to be affordable because if we look at the current price, use coal,” he said.
As you know, as of June 15, 2019 the project has entered the operational stage (Commercial Operation Date / COD) reaching around 10% or 3,617 MW. The progress of the construction plant is around 57 percent or 20.119 MW.
While the contracted power plant (Power Purchase Agreement / PPA) is around 27% or 29,515 MW. While the power plant progress into the procurement process is around 4% or 1,453 MW and the planning stage reaches around 2%, equivalent to 734 MW.
