Jakarta – State Electricity Company (PLN) said that the use of biodiesel 20% (B20) until October had reached 47%. This figure is achieved from the target of 304,773 kL.
Director of Regional Business for East Java, Bali and Nusa Tenggara PLN, Djoko Abu Manan, said that the realization of B20 usage had reached 142,246 kL.
With this figure, he is optimistic that by the end of the year the B20 implementation at PLN can reach 100%.
“Look at the data, meaning that the possibility until December can be achieved (100% implementation). This is only the supply,” he said at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Jakarta, Thursday (10/18/2018).
Furthermore, he also revealed that the implementation of B20 was still experiencing problems, especially in the distribution section of suppliers.
According to him, the most affected areas are located in the eastern part of Indonesia. However, this constraint will soon be overcome by Pertamina as a supplier.
“East (most problems). The transportation there is the problem,” he said.
Meanwhile, Djoko Siswanto, Director General of Oil and Gas at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, said that his party would immediately settle the rules to impose constraints on delays in sending B20 to business entities.
However, until now he has not been able to mention the completion time for imposing sanctions of Rp 6,000 per liter because it is still in the evaluation phase.
“I just finished making SOP sanctions. Later the mechanism will be according to SOP. Wait (the time of completion), we are still evaluating,” he concluded.

Previously, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) previously mentioned the B20% implementation which was considered not yet smooth. He also requested that the minister responsible for reporting the implementation.
For information, B20 is implemented to reduce oil fuel imports. That way, Indonesia’s trade balance does not widen.

Jokowi revealed that the warning was made so that the relevant minister could provide a report on the implementation of B20 to him. He claimed to hear firsthand that the implementation of the program had not run smoothly.
