Asean-power.com, Jakarta – PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk or PGN has distributed natural gas during the period of January to May this year, with a volume far greater than last year.

During this year, the assignment of distribution of natural gas mandated to PGN as a sub gas holding reached 133,814 SR. While the volume that can be distributed reaches 4.10 MMSCFD and 35,055,000 M3.

Overall, the assignment did not move from last year’s target. However, the realization of natural gas services carried out by PGN for five months this year has far exceeded the performance of last year.
Based on PGN’s records, the distribution of natural gas reached 6,118,426 M3 during the period from January to May 2019.

Compared to last year, that volume jumped 43.5%, during the same period last year the volume disbursed was 4,265,823 M3.

In total, natural gas distributed in the size of MMSCF also surged.

During the first five months of this year, the distribution volume was 216.07 MMSCF, up 43.1% compared to 151 MMSCF in the same period last year.

PGN’s Corporate Secretary, Rachmat Hutama disclosed the Oil and Gas Holding process and PGN’s role as Subholding Gas has boosted the performance of natural gas distribution.

“Up almost 50% for the five-month period alone, we hope that this significant increase will continue to increase until the end of the year,” he said on Monday (6/17/2019).

He considered that through the integration of gas infrastructure after the joining of PT Pertamina Gas (Pertagas) under the PGN as the Gas Sub Holding, it could boost the value of efficiency and effectiveness.
From internal records, last year, the total volume disbursed reached 11,469,504 M3 and amounted to 405 MMSCF.

“This year, we make sure that the volume will be boosted significantly,” said Rachmat.

There are 14 natural gas distribution operations areas by PGN. The entire operation area is spread across Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, Batam and Papua.
